Back “Awarded first place, the team from the
University of Washington designed and built interactive, tiered seating for Freret Park, a public park in the 13th Ward of New Orleans. [post-hurricane Katrina]

The surrounding community expressed a need to the UW team for seating that parents, children, other residents, and visitors could use.”

Materials used include reclaimed cedar wood from 2x6 boards, other reused steel and fasteners, including nails.
Panel boards are stock plywood with strategically designed and drilled drainage holes.
